Spring smoothies: refreshment with a health kick

Spring not only brings nature to life, but also our desire for fresh, colourful and healthy food. Smoothies are an excellent way to start the day with energy or to treat yourself to a delicious refreshment. Today we present two smoothie recipes that not only taste delicious, but are also packed with fruit and health benefits.

Vitamin-rich berry dream smoothie

Ingredients:
-
150g mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
- 1 ripe banana
- 200 ml unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp honey (optional)

Preparation:
For this smoothie, all you need to do is put all the ingredients in your blender and blend everything into a smooth drink. If you like, add a few ice cubes to make the smoothie nice and cool and fresh.

Berries are real superfoods. They are rich in antioxidants that protect your cells from free radicals. Blueberries, for example, promote brain health and can improve memory. Chia seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids and fibre, which support both your heart health and your digestion.

Green detox smoothie

Ingredients:
- 1 handful of fresh spinach
- 1 green apple
- 1/2 cucumber
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 250 ml coconut water
- A small piece of fresh ginger

Preparation:
Cut the apple and cucumber into small pieces. Put them in the blender together with the spinach, lemon juice, coconut water and ginger. Blend everything until the smoothie is nice and smooth. Enjoy your drink immediately to get the most nutrients.

Spinach is a powerhouse, rich in vitamins and minerals, including iron, calcium and magnesium. Cucumbers contain antioxidants and promote your body's hydration. Ginger is anti-inflammatory and can help ease digestive discomfort. Coconut water is a natural source of electrolytes, ideal for rehydration after a workout.
