Halloween decoration
Mummy heads
Probably the easiest decoration idea ever! You can make your own mummy heads in no time at all and create a spooky Halloween atmosphere. All you need for this craft idea are jars, gauze bandages, wiggly eyes and tea lights. Simply wrap the gauze bandages around the jars and stick small eyes on them. Place the tea lights in the jars, light them and enjoy the spooky atmosphere!
Leaf ghosts
What could be more autumnal than leaves? It accompanies us on every walk in the woods, the wind blows it outside our front doors every day and it adorns every roadside. How great that we can also use leaves for crafting! Our craft idea: Take dry autumn leaves and paint them with white paint. Maple leaves are best. Then paint eyes and a mouth on the white leaf ghost and your spooky table decoration for Halloween is ready!
Bats
There is probably no other animal that epitomises the spooky festival quite like the bat. You can make your own bats in no time at all and use them both as garlands and table decorations. All you need are:
- Toilet rolls
- black acrylic paint & brushes
- Scissors & glue
- coloured & white construction paper
- Wiggle eyes
First cut the toilet roll to the desired size. Then paint the entire roll with black acrylic paint. While the paint is drying, you can cut out the wings from coloured construction paper. Now cut small teeth out of white paper and stick them to the toilet roll together with the wings and wiggly eyes. To make the bat's pointed ears, simply fold the top edge of the toilet roll towards the centre. Et voila - the cute bats are ready. You can now either stand them up or attach them to a ribbon to create a garland.
Halloween recipe
We've already organised the right decorations. The only thing missing now are cute snacks. How about cake pops? The great thing about cake pops is that you don't even need to be able to bake - many recipes don't require any baking at all! You need the following ingredients:
- 1 ready-made cake or sponge base
- 30 g jam of your choice (e.g. orange marmalade)
- 30 g margarine or butter
- Chocolate (white and dark)
- Food colouring
- Chocolate droplets, sprinkles
- Shashlik skewers or special cake pops sticks
This is how it works:
Crumble the cake as finely as possible in a bowl. Then add the melted margarine or butter and mix well. Now add the jam and knead the mixture until it no longer crumbles and everything is well combined.
Now form small balls and leave them to rest in the fridge for 1 hour so that they set nicely. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate and, if you like, add food colouring to create spooky colours.
When the balls have set, take a skewer, dip it in the chocolate and stick it into the cake pops. Take one cake pop at a time and put them in the fridge for another 30 minutes. The chocolate on the skewer ensures that everything sticks well.
Now it's time to decorate! Dip the cake pops in the chocolate first and then leave to harden. Then take a toothpick and decorate the cake pops as you wish. If you like, you can use sprinkles and chocolate drops. Whether white skeletons, orange pumpkins or colourful monsters - there are no limits to your creativity!
