The most beautiful winter hikes

Romantic paths through snow-covered forests, wintry meadows, fantastic views and fresh air - a winter hike is just the thing to take in the cold season. From a leisurely stroll to a challenging winter hike, there is something for every type of hiker in Tyrol.

We can reveal our best insider tips from the region:

Family winter hike on the panoramic trail from Mutters

The panoramic trail from Mutters via Natters, Götzens, Birgitz and Axams to Grinzens is an absolute highlight for winter fun, not least thanks to the breathtaking views of the communities in the low mountain range, the Inntal valley and Innsbruck as well as the Nordkette mountain range.
Our hike towards Birchfeldsiedlung begins at the "Birchfeld" stop on the Stubai Valley railway. Once there, the path leads you past the church and into the forest. For further orientation, you will find signposts "Panoramaweg Mutters-Götzens" distributed along the entire route.

Challenging hike to the Gschwandtkopf

A breathtaking view over the Seefeld high plateau is the highlight of this circular hike. We recommend that you complete this tour with snowshoes.
The starting point is the Wildsee in Seefeld, where you will find the trail number 86, which takes you directly to the Gschwandtkopf. The descent is via the Gschwandtkopfmähder.

The home of the mountain doctor

The one-hour circular hike around Wildermieming gives you an insight into the telenovela world of Tyrol. The start is from the municipal car park in Wildermieming. After a short walk, you will reach the filming location of Doctor Grube's parents' house, who has been impressing us as the Mountain Doctor in the series of the same name for 15 years now.
