Do-it-yourself skincare: Simple recipes for radiant skin
Radiant skin thanks to simple home remedies
If you have ever looked for simple skincare recipes, you will have noticed one thing: Home remedies such as honey or quark keep popping up on the ingredients list. The reason for this is that these simple home remedies are rich in valuable ingredients and optimally nourish your skin. Which of these ingredients suits you best depends on your skin type. Whether you have oily, blemished or dry skin - a different mask recipe is suitable depending on your current condition.
Below you will find a brief overview of simple household remedies and their effects.
Honey - a true all-round talent
Honey is probably THE home remedy par excellence when it comes to homemade skin care. The natural product is an ideal moisturiser and can also have an antibacterial effect. Due to these two active ingredients, honey is suitable for the care of dry skin as well as for the treatment of blemishes.
Edible oils against dry skin
Many people suffer from dry and flaky skin, especially in the cold months. In these cases, rich edible oils such as olive or coconut oil are perfect for moisturising quickly and intensively.
Quark as natural care
While edible oils are particularly suitable for the winter months, quark is ideal for the warmer months of the year. Quark has a cooling and soothing effect and the whey it contains has an anti-inflammatory effect. Perfect for treating the annual sunburn at the start of the spring season!

Mask against blemished skin
An apple a day keeps the doctor away - everyone probably knows this saying. Apples can also work wonders when it comes to blemished skin and spots. If you are prone to blemishes, this homemade face mask is just the thing for you. The flesh of the apple not only contains vitamins A and C, but also zinc - an ideal mineral against spots and blackheads. Honey and quark provide plenty of moisture and also have an antibacterial effect. All you need for an apple mask is: 1 apple, 1 tbsp honey and 2 tbsp quark.
And this is how it works: Firstly, puree the apple with a blender. Then add the quark and honey and stir the mixture. Apply the mask carefully and leave it on for 30 minutes. Afterwards, wash off the face mask with lukewarm water and gently pat your skin dry.

Mask against oily skin
Not only apples are a true miracle fruit for the skin, strawberries also contain important active ingredients and help against oily skin. This is mainly due to the tannins contained in the small red fruits. These ensure that the pores contract, making the skin appear fresh, even and mattified. All you need for the berry mask is: 6 fresh strawberries, 2 teaspoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of natural yoghurt.
Here's how: wash the strawberries and mash them with a fork. Add the honey and natural yoghurt and stir well. Apply the mask and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then wash off the face mask with lukewarm water.
Mask for dry skin
We all know it, we all hate it: the skin is tight, feels dry and the face looks pale. Fortunately, there are two little miracle cures that everyone is guaranteed to have at home: Honey and natural yoghurt. These two ingredients make your skin feel incredibly soft and supple and provide your skin with exactly the moisture it needs at the right time. All you need is: 1 tbsp honey and 6 tbsp natural yoghurt.
And this is how it works: Mix the two ingredients in a small bowl and then apply the mask evenly to your face. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
