Unfortunately, sport is often neglected in stressful everyday life. Yet it is so important for our health. The World Health Organisation recommends that adults exercise for at least 150 minutes a week. This does not mean doing competitive sport. It is enough to plan a little more exercise into your daily routine. After all, according to one study, just 6,000 steps a day can reduce the risk of a heart attack and have a positive effect on overall well-being. Today we will show you how you can easily make your day more active.
Step by step - For more movement in everyday life
Every step is a step in the right direction
Of course, especially in the warmer months, we should favour the bike over the car and cover certain distances on foot. Pedometers and kilometre trackers help to motivate us. These are available as free downloads for all mobile phones. Set a (realistic) daily goal. The joy of having reached your goal increases ambition and motivation.
Steps can be collected not only on the way to work. For example, if possible, you can place the printer in your office so that you have to stand up to get your printouts. You can also make phone calls while standing up. You can replace phone calls or emails to work colleagues with a short "walk" around the office and thus also collect some steps. Of course, such trips should be kept short ;-).
Have you heard the saying "After eating, you should rest or take a thousand steps"? Naturally, we opt for the active option to do something good for our bodies. This is very easy to do. For example, you can choose a restaurant that is not just round the corner. Walking there before and after your meal helps you to recharge your batteries and boosts your digestion. Of course, the same also applies to the take-away option. A short walk with colleagues not only promotes team spirit, it also helps you to clear your head.

Active instead of passive
Of course we want to relax at home after work. But have you ever thought about how well you can combine exercise with watching a film or series in the evening? Why don't you sit down on the yoga mat instead of the sofa and get started? In our blog Yoga: Sport for body and mind, we present six simple exercises that are great to do in front of the TV.
The private dance party
Do you know how to make housework easier? Exactly, with the right music! Sing and dance while you do the often not so pleasant tasks. The extra movement is good for your body and the feelings of happiness triggered by singing and dancing are good for your mind.

We wish you lots of fun and success in imitating them and never forget that any movement is better than no movement!
