Why hiking is good for mind & body
In the midst of blooming meadows, steep mountain slopes, in front of a unique panorama. Is it possible to feel freer than when hiking in the mountains? Hiking has been proven to improve our well-being - in every respect.

According to so-called "psycho-geography", particular environments influence the body and mind. Have you ever noticed that many philosophers sought inspiration in the vastness of the mountains? This is no coincidence. The idyllic surroundings calm the body and signalise a little time out. As we all know, that never hurts.
The physical activity of hiking reduces stress hormones and the wonderful impressions that nature has to offer release happiness hormones. The path from hectic everyday life to total relaxation therefore leads through the breathtaking mountain world.
It has been scientifically proven that half an hour of hiking has the same effect as being hypnotised and practising autogenic training or meditating. Experts also believe that hiking in beautiful scenery can even help you get out of a low mood.
Of course, our physical health also benefits enormously from this relaxing leisure activity. Hiking has been proven to counteract cardiovascular diseases and strengthen the immune system. An additional bonus: it stimulates the metabolism and the muscles trained through hiking relieve the strain on knees and hips. What's more, there is no fresher and better air than that in the mountains. No air pollution and less pollen pollution benefit us on the summits.
We in Tyrol sit right in the heart of the mountains. Breathtaking peaks rise up out of the ground wherever you look. So many that it's almost impossible to decide which one to climb first. We wish you lots of fun!
