From refreshing drinks to cool activities - here you'll find everything you need to cool down perfectly on hot summer days.
Cooling down in summer: here's how!
Refreshing drinks:
What could be better than a cool drink to refresh you on a hot summer's day? Why not try a homemade iced tea with fresh fruit and mint? Or how about a refreshing lemonade that you can easily make yourself? Experiment with different fruit and herb combinations to create your favourite drinks. Of course, we don't want to withhold our favourite recipe from you either!

Ingredients:
- - 4-6 lemons (depending on size)
- - 1 litre of water
- - 100-150 g sugar (or to taste)
- - Ice cubes
- - Fresh mint or other herbs for garnish (optional)
Preparation:
Squeeze the lemons to extract the fresh juice. You can use a citrus juicer or simply your hands. The seeds must then be removed so that the juice remains smooth. Pour the freshly squeezed lemon juice into a carafe or container of your choice. Now heat the water and sugar in a pan on the hob. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved and a clear liquid has formed. Once the sugar solution has cooled, carefully pour it over the fresh lemon juice and stir to mix the ingredients well. Place the lemonade in the fridge for at least 1-2 hours so that it is well chilled and the flavours can develop. When you want to serve the lemonade, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the homemade lemonade over it. Our tip: For an extra kick of freshness, you can garnish the drink with fresh mint or other herbs to give it an extra flavourful kick. Cheers!
Light and refreshing meals:
On hot days, it is important to eat light and refreshing meals. Avoid heavy and fatty foods and instead opt for fresh fruit and vegetables, salads, light sandwiches and cold soups. These meals not only help to keep the body cool, but also provide it with important nutrients.
Water games and pool fun:
Nothing cools you down better than water! If you have access to a pool on hot days, you are of course very lucky on such days. But even without a pool, you can enjoy water games in the garden or on a nearby playground. Set up a sprinkler system, organise a water fight or play with water bombs. These activities are not only refreshing, but also great fun for the whole family. Our guests benefit from the many nearby bathing lakes. The Natter quarry pond is just a five-minute drive away and is a favourite destination for locals and visitors alike. The lake offers a beautiful backdrop and a pleasant atmosphere for relaxing and swimming. For those who prefer an outdoor pool, the Axams outdoor pool is the perfect choice: just ten minutes away by car, it is a modern swimming pool with various pools and slides. Here you can cool off in the cool water and enjoy the sun at the same time.
