I'm sure everyone knows this problem: you try in vain to close your overstuffed suitcase. The problem is not necessarily that you pack far too much in your suitcase - what counts is the order. The golden rule when packing a suitcase is: heavy items at the bottom, light items at the top. Heavy items such as shoes, toiletry bags and the like should therefore go first in your suitcase. You should use the lighter items to fill all the empty spaces and gaps, as this creates the most even layers possible and gives you more space. Do you like to fold your trousers, jumpers and dresses carefully before stacking them in your suitcase? That's all well and good, but this technique really doesn't save space. Instead of folding your heavy items of clothing, it's better to layer them. Wondering how that works? Place a pair of trousers half lengthways in the suitcase and then place another item of clothing on the other side of the suitcase in the same way. Continue this layering principle until you have clothes overlapping on all four sides of the suitcase. Finally, simply fold all the overlapping items inwards until you have a compact parcel in the suitcase. Finally, fasten the integrated tensioning strap and close the suitcase lid.
